Draw

A game is considered to have ended in a draw in any of the following cases:

1. one player has only a king left, and the other has a king or a king and a minor piece;
2. both players are left with a king and a bishop, and the bishops are of the same color;
3. a stalemate position has arisen;
4. one player gives perpetual check;
5. one player offers a draw and the other accepts the offer;
6. one player establishes that no captures have been made and no pawn has moved over the last 50 or more moves, and claims that the game be stopped (the 50-move rule);
7. the same position arises three (or more) times in the game, with the same side to move each time (threefold repetition); in this case the player whose move would bring the position up for the third time (or more) may tell the arbiter, without playing that move on the board, that the game should stop and be declared a draw.
