Pawn storm

One of the ways to conduct the fight. Most often a pawn storm is aimed at the position of the enemy king, to break up its cover and open a road for one's own pieces to deliver a mating attack. The success of a pawn storm depends above all on how the opponent's pawns stand on the sector under attack. A pawn storm is hardest to carry out when the opponent's pawns stand in a row on their original squares and control every point on the sixth rank (for Black) or the third (for White). Every advance of those pawns creates targets to go after.
