Complication

A method for turning a simple position into a complicated one. Complicating the position pays off when the opponent holds an advantage and the other side wants to tangle the position to make a mistake more likely, or when a simple position offers no winning chances and the only way to play for the win is to create a complicated situation that resists exact calculation.
