Advantage

Also known as:superiority

The superiority of one side over the other, which can take various forms. A material advantage means one side has more force; a positional advantage means a better placement of pieces and pawns.

An advantage can also mean holding the initiative, an attack, a pawn majority on a flank, better piece mobility, control of key squares, weaknesses in the opponent's camp, and the like.
