Gaining space and attacking the king
Why strong central pawns lead to an attack on the king
Strong central pawns take space away from the opponent, and with it the freedom to maneuver. Organizing a defense under these conditions is hard. So one way to convert the advantage of a mobile pawn center is an attack on the king. Such an attack has every chance of succeeding.
We give a few examples and draw the reader's attention to a typical device, used in the games Zagoriansky — Mikenas and Yarovoy — Zubarev, where the enemy pawn was driven out of the center by attacking it with a flank pawn.
